Announcement regarding recess during cold weather

Due to the temperate Colorado climate, students are generally sent outdoors for recess, even in cold weather.  Your student should dress appropriately for the season, and should wear warm clothing (e.g., coats, gloves, hats, etc.) and boots during cold and wet weather.  We want to ensure all of our students have the appropriate clothing.
We have seen some up and down weather, typical of Colorado in the winter months.  As you know, recess is provided for all students daily during their lunch period.  Precipitation, wind speed and low temperatures can cause recess breaks to be held inside on rare occasions.  Our policy is whenever any combination of these factors takes the wind chill temperature below 20 degrees, recess will be held indoors.
If you need assistance providing the appropriate winter weather gear for your student, please contact the school. We are here to help!
